Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer
The Assistant Professor/Senior Lecturer at the American University of Nigeria School of Information Technology and Computing is responsible for teaching, research, and community service. They contribute to preparing students to be applied and practical, critical thinkers and problem solvers.
Responsibilities
- Teaching and supporting student learning both inside and outside the classroom.
- Ensuring class attendance and completion of required assignments.
- Providing academic advising to students throughout the semester.
- Attending department/school meetings and academic functions.
- Engaging in research activities that promote self-development and the university.
- Contributing to AUN community service and development activities.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or Cybersecurity from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 6 years of university teaching, research, postdoctoral, or relevant industry experience post-PhD.
- Demonstrated contribution to curriculum development and academic service.
- Evidence of supervising undergraduate, master's, and PhD students.
- Proficiency in use of ICT tools and e-resources for teaching and research.
- Verifiable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals.
Salary Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and job classification as approved by the University.
