About the role

Human Resource Officer

VHIL is hiring a Human Resource Officer to oversee all HR functions across Lagos locations. This full-time role encompasses recruitment, onboarding, policy enforcement, performance management, training coordination, and employee welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Business Manager to identify staffing needs, conduct interviews, and manage the onboarding process for new hires
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all locations
  • Oversee performance appraisals and provide guidance to managers on performance-related matters
  • Generate HR reports and analytics to drive informed decision-making
  • Organize and coordinate in-house training programs to enhance employee skills
  • Monitor and manage staff attendance records and leave requests
  • Act as a point of contact for employee queries, concerns, and grievances
  • Oversee general HR activities ensuring adherence to legal requirements and best practices

Key Performance Indicators

  • Decrease time-to-fill without compromising candidate quality
  • Maintain low employee turnover rate through retention strategies
  • Maintain high policy compliance rate across locations
  • Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations
  • Reduce absenteeism through improved attendance strategies
  • Maintain or improve employee satisfaction and engagement scores
  • Ensure precise and timely HR metrics reporting
  • Quick turnaround time on staff requests (confirmation, leave, loan, IOU, etc.)
  • Design effective training plans with minimum 80% achievement rate
  • Ensure 100% utilization of budgeted manpower

Requirements

  • Strong recruitment and talent acquisition expertise
  • Knowledge of HR policies and employment law
  • Performance management experience
  • HR analytics and reporting skills
  • Training program coordination abilities
  • Staff attendance and records management
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of general HR practices and best practices
