Pharmacy Technician
A Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing customer service. They ensure a clean and organized pharmacy environment while maintaining accurate records and adhering to regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications in accordance with prescriptions and established procedures.
- Receive, verify, label, package, and organize medications and other pharmaceutical products.
- Provide customers with appropriate information on medication usage as directed by the pharmacist.
- Refer clinical or medication-related questions to the supervising pharmacist.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment.
- Monitor stock levels and identify products that require replenishment.
- Receive and properly store medications and pharmaceutical products.
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper stock rotation using appropriate inventory practices.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with periodic stock counts.
- Report damaged, expired, missing, or low-stock items to the pharmacist or pharmacy manager.
- Assist in preventing stock losses and discrepancies.
- Attend to customers professionally and courteously.
- Assist customers with locating products and provide general product information within the scope of the role.
- Process customer orders and transactions accurately.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints appropriately and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain a positive and welcoming customer experience.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, sales, inventory, and other relevant pharmacy activities.
- Follow pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of pharmaceutical products.
- Support the pharmacist with documentation and routine administrative duties.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and patient information.
