Pharmacy Technician

A Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing customer service. They ensure a clean and organized pharmacy environment while maintaining accurate records and adhering to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications in accordance with prescriptions and established procedures.
  • Receive, verify, label, package, and organize medications and other pharmaceutical products.
  • Provide customers with appropriate information on medication usage as directed by the pharmacist.
  • Refer clinical or medication-related questions to the supervising pharmacist.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify products that require replenishment.
  • Receive and properly store medications and pharmaceutical products.
  • Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper stock rotation using appropriate inventory practices.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with periodic stock counts.
  • Report damaged, expired, missing, or low-stock items to the pharmacist or pharmacy manager.
  • Assist in preventing stock losses and discrepancies.
  • Attend to customers professionally and courteously.
  • Assist customers with locating products and provide general product information within the scope of the role.
  • Process customer orders and transactions accurately.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints appropriately and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, sales, inventory, and other relevant pharmacy activities.
  • Follow pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of pharmaceutical products.
  • Support the pharmacist with documentation and routine administrative duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and patient information.
