Driver – Domfas Advanced Preparatory School (DAPS)

The DAPS Driver is responsible for safely transporting students, staff, school materials, and authorized passengers to and from designated locations in a timely, secure, and professional manner. The role ensures the safe operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of school vehicles while strictly adhering to traffic laws and institutional transportation policies.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students, staff, and authorized passengers to designated locations with punctual pick-up and drop-off
• Follow assigned routes and schedules as approved by school management
• Ensure compliance with all traffic rules and road safety regulations
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; monitor brakes, tires, lights, oil, and fuel levels
• Report mechanical faults or damages promptly and maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness
• Support planning of daily transportation schedules and coordinate with school administration on transport needs
• Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance activities; complete vehicle logbooks daily
• Ensure all passengers wear seat belts and monitor passenger safety during transit
• Provide courteous and professional service; maintain discipline and order within the vehicle
• Respond appropriately to road emergencies or breakdowns; ensure passenger safety in case of accidents
• Ensure vehicles are securely parked when not in use and protect them from theft, vandalism, or misuse
• Adhere to school policies, transport guidelines, and code of conduct

Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

• Minimum Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO)
• Valid professional driver's license appropriate for assigned vehicle category
• Trade test or vocational driving certification (advantageous)
• Basic training in road safety, vehicle maintenance, or defensive driving (desirable)

Experience:

• Minimum 2–5 years proven driving experience
• Experience in institutional, school, corporate, or logistics driving (highly desirable)
• Familiarity with Ado-Ekiti roads and surrounding routes (advantageous)
• Experience transporting passengers safely and responsibly
