About the role
HR & Executive Support Officer
This dual-function role combines day-to-day human resources operations with high-quality administrative and executive support. You'll manage recruitment, employee relations, HR compliance, and provide strategic support to the executive team in a fast-paced business environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment: job posting, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding
- Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and HR documentation
- Administer staff attendance, leave management, and absence tracking
- Support HR policy implementation and employee handbook enforcement
- Coordinate performance review cycles and maintain appraisal records
- Handle employee relations matters with professionalism and confidentiality (disciplinary processes, grievances, conflict resolution)
- Process monthly payroll inputs including PAYE computations, pension deductions, and HMO enrolments
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour law, ITF, NSITF, and pension regulations
- Drive staff engagement initiatives, welfare programmes, and internal communications
- Maintain organisational chart and support workforce planning
- Manage executive calendar, scheduling, and travel arrangements
- Draft correspondence, reports, and communications on behalf of the executive
- Prepare presentations, briefing notes, and meeting agendas
- Take minutes during management meetings and track action points
- Handle confidential information with utmost discretion
- Conduct research to support executive decision-making
- Manage incoming communications and prioritise responses
- Coordinate logistics for company events and external engagements
- Follow up on pending tasks across departments
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience with exposure to executive or administrative support
- Demonstrable experience managing full recruitment cycles and employee relations independently
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour law, PAYE administration, pension regulation, and HR compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- High emotional intelligence with ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and firmness
- Strong discretion and integrity with confidential information
- Proactive, self-managed, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving business environment
Nice to Have
- Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, or equivalent)
- Experience in small-to-mid-sized business environment
- Familiarity with HR management tools (BambooHR, Zoho People, or similar)
Salary
NGN 70,000 – 150,000 per month
