About the role

Finance Officer

A Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves working closely with the finance team to support the organization's financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an efficient and well-organized record management system for easy retrieval of accounting records and supporting documents.
  • Accurately record and maintain financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, expenses, and other accounting entries in the financial system.
  • Record, reconcile, and monitor daily, monthly, and annual transactions relating to customers’ and suppliers’ statements.
  • Perform regular account reconciliations and promptly investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, schedules, and supporting documents.
  • Maintain accurate ledger entries and support bank and other account reconciliations.
  • Support budgeting, cash flow management, and other financial planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with approved financial policies, procedures, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team and other business units to support the achievement of the organization’s financial objectives.
  • Provide relevant financial records and documentation required for internal and external audits.
  • Support other Finance team members with assigned accounting tasks, projects, and other operational requirements.
  • Ensure finance-related requests, transactions, and documentation are processed accurately and within agreed timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • ICAN certification is required.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Good understanding of financial reporting, account reconciliation, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
