About the role
Senior Accountant
ABIS Group is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead financial operations and strategy in Abuja. You will drive financial performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide strategic insights to support executive decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity optimization
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, IFRS, and relevant financial regulations
- Lead internal control and risk management initiatives
- Prepare annual budgets, financial statements, management accounts, and statutory reports
- Establish and maintain internal controls, financial governance frameworks, and compliance systems
- Coordinate financial due diligence, audits, and external financial reviews
- Provide strategic financial insights to senior management for business growth and investment decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MSc is a strong advantage)
- Professional Certification: Chartered Accountant (ICAN) required; ACCA or other relevant certifications are a plus
- Minimum 7 years progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Deep understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and Nigerian tax regulations
- Proficiency in financial software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
- Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling expertise
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
