Role Overview
The Associate Professor/Full Professor at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) School of Information Technology and Computing is responsible for teaching, research, and community service. The role involves preparing students to become applied and practical problem solvers, working closely with the Dean to develop course structures that align with AUN's development philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Teaching and supporting student learning both inside and outside the classroom.
- Ensuring class attendance and completing required assignments.
- Providing academic advising to students throughout the semester.
- Attending department and school meetings regularly.
- Participating in academic functions as required by the university.
- Engaging in research activities that promote self-development and the university's mission.
- Contributing to AUN community service and development activities.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or Cybersecurity from a reputable university.
- Minimum of nine (9) years of university teaching, research, postdoctoral, or relevant industry experience post-PhD.
- Demonstrated leadership in academic, research, or administrative activities.
- Evidence of supervising undergraduate, master's, and PhD students.
- Proficiency in using ICT tools and e-resources for teaching and research.
- Verifiable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals.
- Appropriate academic credentials and successful post-secondary teaching experience.
Salary Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and job classification as approved by the University.
