About the role

Business Development Representative

Drive commercial growth for Instanta, an international coffee manufacturer, as their first employee in Nigeria. This mid-level sales role combines sales management, business development, and brand positioning across the Nigerian FMCG market.

Responsibilities

Sales Management:

  • Develop private label and brand products in the Nigerian market
  • Work closely with the distributor's sales team to ensure product availability and sales growth
  • Monitor stock levels, product distribution, and retail coverage
  • Support key accounts and retail partners to maximise sell-through

Business Development:

  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Expand market presence across modern trade, general trade and online platforms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers, distributors and partners
  • Support negotiation and onboarding of new sales channels

Marketing & Brand Development:

  • Support brand development and positioning of Instanta coffee brands in West Africa
  • Coordinate with the distributor and Instanta team to implement marketing campaigns and promotions
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities and pricing
  • Support product launches, in-store promotions, and brand visibility initiatives

Reporting & Work Arrangement:

  • Report to the Launch Director
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market insights, and brand activities
  • Work initially remotely from home

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in sales, business development, or the FMCG industry
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with distributors
  • Good understanding of the Nigerian retail and FMCG markets
  • Full proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in coffee, beverages, or FMCG brands
  • Experience working with distributors and retail channels
