Upper Primary Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Female Primary Teacher to join our vibrant school community. The successful candidate will teach pupils in our Upper Primary – Years arm, following a well-structured British curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching aligned with the school’s curriculum and standards.
- Assess and mark pupils’ work promptly and effectively, in line with school policy.
- Administer assessments accurately and fairly, following established procedures.
- Create and maintain a well-organised, stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and wellbeing.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to pupils and communicate progress effectively with parents and carers.
- Promote positive behaviour and consistently uphold the school’s values and expectations.
Requirements
- Must be resident in Ibadan, and live within a reasonable commuting distance of Jericho, Ibadan
- Minimum academic qualification: B.Ed in Primary Education Studies or a B.Sc./B.A./HND with a PGDE from a reputable institution
- Minimum of 3 years’ continuous post-NYSC experience working with Primary pupils in an international school
- TRCN certification is highly desirable and will be considered an added advantage
- Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create a disciplined, respectful and focused learning environment
- Proven excellence in teaching core subjects—English, Mathematics, and Science—alongside the ability to effectively deliver a broad range of primary-level subjects, tailored to meet diverse learner needs
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email, with confident application in day-to-day teaching and administration
- Ability to adopt and model the school’s handwriting scheme, demonstrating clear, legible, and consistent writing
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Highly organised, with the ability to plan, deliver, and maintain well-structured lessons and create high-quality classroom displays
- Maintains consistently high expectations for pupil behaviour, academic progress, and overall achievement
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of assessment methods, learner tracking systems, and providing effective feedback
- Clear knowledge of safeguarding procedures, with a commitment to upholding best practices in pupil welfare and protection
- Well-versed in effective teaching methodologies, and committed to continuous professional development and improvement
- A genuine passion for teaching and pupil development
