About the role
Field Sales Manager – Ewekoro
HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge) is seeking an experienced Field Sales Manager to drive sales growth, ensure safety compliance, and strengthen brand presence in the concrete manufacturing sector.
Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Implement area commercial strategy and sales action plans to achieve targets and profit margins; organize and control commercial operations for the region
- Customer Management: Evaluate and strengthen relationships with large and medium companies, masons, developers, and home builders; assess evolving needs and proactively manage complaints
- Product & Service Solutions: Provide technical recommendations on concrete products and Value Added Products (VAPs); propose placing & finishing services tailored to customer needs
- Market Development: Represent Lafarge at trade exhibitions, building expos, and trade fairs; develop action plans to drive VAP and new product launches
- Safety & Compliance: Apply and manage safety policies; report incidents, near misses, and environmental non-compliance; ensure jobsite access meets safety standards
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with Marketing, Quality Control, Production, and Legal departments to improve service quality and develop customer communication materials
- Administrative Functions: Monitor credit, invoicing, and order management; track sales indicators and market intelligence; maintain sales database reports
- Operations Support: Monitor purchase/sales alignment with scheduling; manage transportation and delivery coordination; track construction activity for commercial opportunities
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Technology, Architecture, Marketing, or Humanities/Social Science (Master's degree preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 3–4 years in sales, preferably in construction materials or concrete industry
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of concrete, production tools, VAPs, Ultra Series products, transportation management, and quality management
- Skills: Strong presentation, communication, and networking abilities; excellent negotiation and financial acumen; result-oriented and customer-focused; ability to work under pressure
- Software Proficiency: SFDC, CG Mix (BC Mix optional), Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Ready-soft, pricing matrix; basic social media marketing capability
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of competition law and environmental compliance procedures
