Consultant Cardiologist

Role Overview

Sigma Consult is seeking an experienced and highly competent Consultant Cardiologist to provide specialist cardiovascular care within a modern tertiary healthcare environment. The role involves the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with cardiovascular conditions, as well as supporting cardiac emergencies and mentoring junior clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultation and comprehensive management of cardiovascular conditions.
• Conduct outpatient consultations, follow-up clinics, and inpatient reviews.
• Perform and interpret cardiovascular investigations such as ECG, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, and stress testing.
• Manage acute cardiovascular presentations and support cardiac arrest management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to clinical protocols and service development.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical governance standards.

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution.
• Fellowship in Cardiology from the West African College of Physicians (FWACP), National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCP), or an equivalent.
• Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and a valid practicing license.
• Minimum of 5 years post-fellowship experience in Consultant Cardiology.
• Demonstrable experience managing a broad range of cardiovascular conditions.
• Strong experience in both inpatient and outpatient cardiology.
• Experience in a tertiary, specialist, or teaching hospital environment is preferred.
