Accountant

Sezzle is seeking a talented and motivated Accountant to join our finance team. This role requires a high IQ and EQ, with 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in accounting. The ideal candidate will support month-end close schedules under US GAAP and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, cash reconciliations, and variance analysis compliant with US GAAP standards.
• Support quarterly/annual financial reviews and audits.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and execute internal control testing in compliance with SOX 404 requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• 2 to 4 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to US GAAP.
• Professional English fluency (written and spoken).
• Ability to work aligned with US Central time zones.
• Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools.

Salary The compensation range for the role is $2,500 - $4,500 USD GROSS per month as a contractor.
