Chief Internal Auditor

Myrtle Management Consultants is seeking an experienced Chief Internal Auditor to lead the internal audit function and provide independent assurance to the Board of Directors and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement risk-based internal audit plans aligned with strategic objectives
• Lead identification and assessment of organizational risks across financial, operational, and compliance domains
• Oversee internal assessments including Test of Design (TOD) and Test of Effectiveness (TOE)
• Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports and recommendations to the Board
• Maintain understanding of internal policies, auditing frameworks, and regulatory standards
• Manage audit records tracking and follow-ups to ensure implementation of management action plans
• Collaborate with external auditors and technical partners
• Conduct ad-hoc investigations and special projects as directed by the Board

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Minimum 15+ years of progressive auditing experience with significant leadership experience
• Professional experience with a Big 4 firm is highly desirable
• Professional certification required: CIA, CISA, ACA, ACCA, or CFE
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis) and analytics/data visualization software
• Exceptional communication skills
• Based primarily in Ibadan with potential engagement in Lagos
