A Fiber Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber-optic networks. This role requires technical expertise in fiber splicing, termination, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain fiber-optic networks.
• Perform fiber splicing, termination, and testing.
• Troubleshoot network issues and resolve faults.
• Use tools like OTDR and optical power meters for testing.

Requirements

• OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of fiber splicing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to use OTDR, optical power meter, and other fiber-testing tools.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to network faults when required.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel to customer/network locations when necessary.
