Project / Site Engineer (Infrastructure)

Xforce Engineering Limited is hiring a Project / Site Engineer to supervise and coordinate infrastructure works on site in Abuja. This role involves managing day-to-day construction activities, ensuring quality compliance, and liaising with contractors and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate infrastructure works including road construction, drainage systems, earthworks, kerbing, and utility installation
• Interpret civil engineering drawings, BOQs, and specifications; ensure execution per approved designs
• Set out works on site using survey instruments and coordinate with surveyors for levels, alignments, and grades
• Monitor contractors, artisans, and site labour for productivity, quality, and timeline adherence
• Conduct routine quality checks and material testing (compaction, concrete, asphalt) to ensure compliance with engineering standards
• Track project progress against work programme and escalate delays, risks, or resource constraints
• Prepare and maintain daily site reports, progress reports, material reconciliation records, and as-built documentation
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics for timely availability of materials, plant, and equipment
• Liaise with consultants, sub-contractors, and regulatory bodies on infrastructure compliance and approvals
• Identify and resolve technical issues on site; escalate complex design matters to the design office
• Enforce HSE policies and ensure a safe working environment
• Participate in project and client site meetings with accurate technical updates
• Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager, Chief Technical Officer, or Management

Requirements

• Civil engineering background with experience in infrastructure/site supervision
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and BOQs
• Knowledge of construction materials testing and quality control
• Survey instrument operation and coordination capabilities
• Strong HSE compliance awareness
• Project reporting and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and liaison abilities
