History and Global Perspectives Teacher

Broadoaks British School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced History and Global Perspectives Teacher to join our dynamic academic team in Abuja. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop a strong understanding of historical events, global issues, and contemporary perspectives, while building critical thinking, research, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured, and differentiated lessons in History and Global Perspectives
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively
• Encourage inquiry-based learning, debate, and critical thinking
• Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
• Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning
• Support extracurricular activities such as debates, Model United Nations, history clubs, exhibitions, and research projects
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student achievement
• Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and/or TRCN certification
• Bachelor's degree in History, International Relations, Political Science, Global Studies, or a related field
• Experience teaching History and/or Global Perspectives, preferably within a British curriculum setting
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of Cambridge/British curriculum frameworks
• Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
• Passion for inspiring learners and developing global citizens
