About the role
Sales Director
As Sales Director at Johnvents Foods Limited, you will serve as the chief commercial architect for the FMCG division, responsible for long-term vision, commercial viability, and national market dominance. This is a high-level executive role requiring strategic leadership of the entire sales ecosystem to drive aggressive growth while modernizing route-to-market strategies.
Responsibilities
- Define and champion the long-term commercial roadmap for national market share expansion and brand equity growth
- Transform the sales division from traditional distribution models to technology-enabled commercial operations
- Identify high-value business development opportunities and institutional partnerships to diversify revenue streams
- Hold full accountability for the sales division P&L, managing multi-billion naira budgets and operational expenditures
- Provide strategic reporting to the Group Board on market trends, competitive positioning, and commercial performance
- Oversee national pricing policies, distributor contracts, and trade incentive frameworks
- Design and implement adaptive route-to-market strategies balancing large-scale and micro-distribution models
- Lead executive-level negotiations with major distributors, modern trade chains, and HORECA partners
- Ensure operational synergy between sales, supply chain, and production planning
- Build and mentor a high-performance leadership pipeline of Regional Sales Managers and senior commercial leads
- Spearhead digital transformation in sales operations for real-time data-driven decision-making
- Represent Johnvents at industry events, government engagements, and trade associations
Requirements
- 15+ years extensive experience in FMCG, with at least 8 years in senior executive roles (Sales Director, Country Head, or Commercial Director)
- Master's Degree or MBA from a top-tier institution (highly preferred); Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, or related fields (mandatory)
- Proven track record of managing national P&L and delivering consistent double-digit revenue growth in the Nigerian FMCG sector
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams and manage complex stakeholder environments, including Board-level interactions
- Ability to conceptualize and execute market-entry strategies for new products and categories
