About the role
Registered Nursing Officer
Registered nurses plan and provide medical and nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures or radiation therapy. They work closely with physicians and radiologic technologists to educate and prepare patients for various tests.
Responsibilities
- Promote and restore patients’ health by completing the nursing process and collaborating with physicians and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Provide physical, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends.
- Promote patient independence by setting care goals and teaching self-care skills.
- Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring health outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
- Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs among nursing teams.
- Keep patient information confidential and ensure smooth operation of medical equipment.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Attend educational workshops and participate in seminars to maintain professional knowledge.
- Communicate effectively and participate in team problem-solving sessions.
- Accomplish related results as needed.
Requirements
- A Degree in School of Nursing.
- Minimum of two years post-qualification experience in nursing, with excellent experience in clinical and diagnostic aspects.
- Currently registered with the Nigerian Medical Council.
- Clinical skills in emergency medicine and intensive care.
- Competence in advanced life support skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to communicate and build effective relationships at all levels.
- Registered Nurse (RN) degree.
- Active applicable state license.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
- Effective communication skills.
- Persuasion, explanation, and gaining consent skills.
- Flexible approach to work and working hours.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate and legible patient records.
- Good IT skills and information governance awareness.
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
