Financial Accountant

United Nigeria Airlines is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to maintain accurate accounting records, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and monitor suspense accounts
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities with timely completion
• Maintain fixed asset register, compute depreciation, and ensure proper asset capitalization
• Review inventory accounting and reconciliations where applicable
• Provide schedules and supporting documents for external and internal audits
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and statutory requirements
• Supervise the finance team to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or ICAN) with 3+ years post-qualification experience
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in aviation industry
• Knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, Sage, or similar)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
