Impact Story Specialist
The Impact Story Specialist captures, crafts, and amplifies the human stories of transformation generated by NiWEMA across its full five-year scope, 750,000-participant reach, and dual delivery model. The role involves gathering and documenting impact narratives from individual entrepreneurs and sector-based clusters across Nigeria.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a systematic impact story collection framework.
- Conduct in-depth interviews and fieldwork with participants, facilitators, and partners.
- Develop cluster transformation stories across various sectors.
- Write high-quality impact case studies, human interest stories, and programme profiles.
- Produce multimedia content such as videos, audio testimonials, and photo essays.
- Maintain an organised, consent-verified archive of impact stories and multimedia assets.
- Collaborate with M&E function to ensure qualitative impact stories complement quantitative data.
- Identify and develop stories that highlight the program's gender impact.
- Ensure all documentation is conducted ethically and with informed consent.
- Support the Project Director in positioning NiWEMA as a thought leadership reference.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in impact documentation, communications, journalism, or storytelling within a development, NGO, or social enterprise context.
- Demonstrated experience producing impact case studies across digital and field-based settings.
- Experience documenting collective or cluster-level impact is an advantage.
- Proficiency in multimedia content production including basic video, photography, and audio recording.
- Fluency in English. Proficiency in Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, or other Nigerian languages is an advantage.
- Deep commitment to ethical storytelling including informed consent and participant dignity.
