About the role
Account Officer
Real Estate Finance Role | Abuja, Nigeria | Full-Time (8am–5pm, Mon–Fri)
We are a real estate company based in Abuja seeking a technically sound, detail-oriented Account Officer to join our finance team and support accurate management of financial transactions and property accounts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Process and track accounts payable and receivable, including tenant payments, lease agreements, and outstanding balances
- Reconcile bank statements and cross-check invoices with payments and expenses
- Communicate with clients regarding transactions, invoices, and billing discrepancies
- Create, process, and verify invoices with accurate documentation
- Monitor and track organisational and property-related expenses, including budgeting and forecasting support
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review
- Use internal accounting software to organise and maintain financial account information
- Handle account-related inquiries from internal teams, clients, and external vendors
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations (VAT and withholding tax) and perform internal audits as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Professional certification (ICAN or ACCA preferred; candidates in professional stage of ICAN certification encouraged to apply)
- Experience in real estate, property management, or related industry (advantageous)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks or Sage)
- Advanced mathematical skills
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to multitask across multiple accounts, invoices, and payments
- Self-motivated with ability to work well in teams and resolve issues with minimal supervision
Salary
NGN 250,000 – 400,000 per month
