Business Developer – OPay

OPay is recruiting Business Developers to engage merchants in community and neighborhood markets, driving adoption of the OPay Customer App (CAPP) for daily business transactions. You will onboard quality merchants, increase app usage, and grow transaction volume within assigned markets.

Responsibilities

• Identify and onboard quality merchants within assigned markets
• Educate merchants on the benefits of using the OPay Customer App (CAPP)
• Encourage daily app usage for receiving and sending business payments
• Conduct regular merchant visits and follow-up activities to increase app usage and activity
• Drive improvements in merchant activation, order count, active rate, and Gross Transaction Value (GTV)
• Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants
• Resolve merchant concerns and escalate unresolved issues when necessary
• Ensure compliance with departmental SOPs and onboarding standards
• Submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports
• Participate in training, coaching, and performance review sessions

Requirements

• Minimum of an OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
• Prior experience in POS operations, field support, customer service, sales, or merchant acquisition is an added advantage
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proactive, result-oriented, and committed to excellent service delivery
• Ability to work effectively in a field-based environment and engage merchants professionally
