Financial Reporting Accountant

WTS Energy is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Accountant to lead comprehensive financial reporting and control functions within the finance department. This is a strategic role in the energy sector, requiring oversight of financial statements, regulatory compliance, multi-entity consolidation, and a high-performance finance team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and internal policies
• Maintain and enhance robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity
• Lead external audit processes, manage auditor relationships, and drive improvements in financial reporting systems
• Conduct comprehensive financial and economic analyses, including investment appraisals (NPV, IRR) to support strategic decisions
• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting with detailed variance analysis
• Collaborate with department heads to enforce financial accountability and optimize costs
• Oversee corporate tax activities and develop tax-efficient strategies
• Manage multi-entity financial reporting, consolidation, and intercompany reconciliations
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Professional certification: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent
• 10–12 years progressive finance experience, including 5–7 years in senior management roles
• Expertise in financial reporting, consolidation, tax planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/local GAAP and industry-specific accounting practices
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel/financial modeling skills
• Proven leadership, team management, communication, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience in energy sector or comparable industry
• Strategic thinking with track record of driving continuous improvement
• Experience leading complex external audit processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
