Pharmacist

Role Overview

The Pharmacist will dispense prescription and over-the-counter medicines, verify medication orders, and counsel patients on the safe and effective use of their medications. Responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, monitoring drug interactions, managing inventory, ensuring proper storage conditions, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medicines
• Verify medication orders and review prescriptions for accuracy and clinical appropriateness
• Monitor for drug interactions and maintain proper documentation
• Manage inventory, ensure proper storage (including cold chain compliance), and coordinate with suppliers
• Support medication safety initiatives and quality improvement activities
• Provide excellent customer service in a community and hospital-support setting

Requirements

• Licensed Pharmacist with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
• Strong community pharmacy skills including prescription review, medication therapy management, and knowledge of drug indications, contraindications, and side effects
• Experience with community pharmacy operations, including dispensing and patient counseling
• Ability to manage inventory and ensure appropriate storage conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to respectful patient interactions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Prior experience in a similar pharmacy setting in Nigeria is preferred

Salary Monthly salary is Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand Naira (N270,000.00)
