About the role

Field Sales Manager – Nestlé Foods

Nestlé Nigeria is hiring Field Sales Managers to drive sales, merchandising, and team development across assigned territories. You will oversee product availability and visibility in priority outlets, coach distributor sales teams, and execute territory sales plans to achieve approved objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure product availability, visibility, and accessibility in priority outlets through execution of territory sales plans and merchandising guidelines
  • Establish coverage plans and route/journey plans for Distributors, ensuring compliance and implementation
  • Coach, motivate, and develop the Sales Force through regular field coaching and accompaniment
  • Communicate cycle objectives and merchandising priorities to operational Field Sales Force
  • Provide quality, on-time information on demand forecasts, market dynamics, and competitor activities
  • Follow up on Distributor orders and communicate out-of-stock statistics to Regional Sales Managers
  • Execute BSO objectives and achieve Picture-of-Success in assigned territory/Sales Area
  • Deploy and efficiently use Optimetriks to achieve Best/Standard/Outlets visibility in the territory
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Distributor Operations Review process
  • Ensure adherence to Company principles, policies, WHO Code, and Safety guidelines

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma
  • 2–4 years of Field Sales experience in the FMCG sector
  • Sound and practical knowledge of the Food and Beverage industry and core Business Processes
  • Market Intelligence: knowledge of Distributor channels, retail outlets, and best practices
  • Basic knowledge of Integrated Business Planning process
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence people
  • High level of integrity, good work ethics, and self-motivation
  • Effective communication and decision-making skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Good time management and planning/organizational skills
  • Ability to be proactive, creative, and take initiative
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
