Head of Information Security

The Head of Information Security is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, responsible for leading the bank’s information security strategy and operations. This role oversees the design, implementation, and monitoring of security controls across systems, networks, and data assets to protect against internal and external threats.

Responsibilities

• Managing cybersecurity programs
• Reviewing security incidents
• Coordinating risk assessments
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards
• Collaborating with senior leadership, technology teams, and business units
• Developing policies and procedures
• Leading security awareness initiatives
• Maintaining robust business continuity and data privacy practices

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Information Security Management and Information Security
• Demonstrated experience in Cybersecurity, including threat detection, incident response, and implementation of technical and procedural security controls
• Proficiency in Data Privacy principles, regulations, and best practices
• Solid understanding of Business Continuity planning and execution
• Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, or equivalent
• Experience in financial services or banking
• Proven leadership skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is an added advantage
