About the role
A reputable manufacturing organisation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability and availability of plant equipment, utilities, and engineering systems through effective preventive and corrective maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Install, commission, and maintain plant equipment and utilities.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, QA, QC, Stores, Procurement, and EHS teams.
- Manage engineering spare parts and provide technical specifications for required equipment and materials.
- Support equipment qualification, change control, deviations, CAPA, and GMP compliance where applicable.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers and contractors for specialized repairs, installations, and technical support.
- Monitor equipment performance and escalate major breakdowns, recurring failures, and critical engineering issues.
- Supervise technicians, artisans, contractors, and other maintenance personnel when assigned.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with approved SOPs, GMP, and safety requirements.
Requirements
- BA/B.Sc./HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant maintenance engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance systems.
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment installation, and breakdown troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of plant utilities, engineering safety, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with production, quality, procurement, and other technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise maintenance personnel and contractors when required.
