About the role

Sales Development Representative

VerifyAfrica is seeking a Sales Development Representative to lead business development efforts for their RegTech infrastructure platform. You will be the first point of contact for companies needing identity verification and compliance solutions, responsible for prospecting and qualifying leads to bring in front of decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities across target industries and markets
  • Generate qualified leads through outbound sales activities, networking, referrals, and digital prospecting tools
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with compliance officers, product managers, business leaders, and C-suite executives
  • Present and demonstrate company products and solutions to prospective clients
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to negotiation, closing, and account handover
  • Understand client needs and position solutions that address compliance, identity verification, regulatory, and operational challenges
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets
  • Maintain accurate sales records, pipeline forecasts, and activity tracking within the CRM system
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to optimize customer acquisition and retention strategies
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities
  • Provide regular sales reports, pipeline updates, and performance insights to management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, economics, finance, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management
  • Demonstrated success selling SaaS solutions, fintech products, APIs, compliance tools, regulatory technology, or similar enterprise solutions
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to confidently engage senior stakeholders, including compliance officers, product managers, and C-suite executives
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote and fast-paced startup environment
  • Strong organisational skills with disciplined CRM management and pipeline tracking practices

Salary

NGN 250,000 - 400,000 per month, plus commission
