Accountant

West Side Beach Resort & Hotel is seeking an Accountant to join their team in Ajah, Lagos. The role involves managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Controlling the payroll
• Producing accurate month-end accounts, with comparisons to forecasts and previous periods
• Preparing profit and loss accounts and balance sheets for senior management
• Assisting in preparing budgets and business planning, including projected room revenue
• Reconciling bank statements
• Ensuring legislation is followed regarding VAT and PAYE
• Chasing late payments, reporting bad debts, and monitoring cash flow

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of general accounting experience, ideally within a hotel
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage), and hotel property management systems (PMS)
• High attention to detail, integrity in handling confidential data, and strong communication skills
• IT knowledge, as transactions are usually done through computerised systems, electronic cash tills, and so on

Salary N250,000 - N300,000 monthly.
