Principal Infrastructure Architect: Data Platform

Role Overview

The Principal Infrastructure Architect: Data Platform will be responsible for establishing and maintaining infrastructure patterns for data workloads, designing reference implementations, and enabling data teams to build and operate platforms effectively on GCP. This role requires a strong foundation in cloud architecture, data systems, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish infrastructure patterns for data workloads, including CI/CD, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Design and maintain reference patterns for provisioning and operating data platforms.
• Evaluate new technologies through POCs and provide recommendations.
• Define patterns for connecting vendor-managed data services to GCP environments.
• Support data consolidation and governance efforts.
• Participate in architecture reviews and serve as an infrastructure consultant to data teams.

Requirements

• Production experience architecting on GCP and/or AWS beyond data services.
• Hands-on depth in data systems.
• Strong communication and influence skills.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, and networking.
